Shell McElroy has an immediate career opportunity for an Assistant Project Manager (APM) in Atlanta and Charlotte. The primary responsibility of this position is to support the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Manager in the execution and delivery of construction projects in a variety of vertical markets. The APM will focus specifically on ensuring the project remains on schedule, within budget and is delivered to the quality and scope standards established at the outset.

Candidates with at least 1-3 years of experience in commercial construction/project management are most likely to be successful. A Bachelor’s Degree in construction, engineering or related field is preferred. What You Can Expect to Do

The main responsibility of this position is to coordinate the overall construction activities for the project.  The PM will remain engaged in the project from preconstruction, work closely with the preconstruction and estimating team, transition the project to construction, and see the work through close-out and turnover to the client.  The PM will oversee QA/QC, material management, cost and schedule control, safety and subcontractor relations.  The PM will be the primary point of contact on a day-to-day basis between Shell McElroy and the owner and design team.

The Superintendent will be responsible for managing all assigned projects from beginning to end, including costs, quality, schedule, safety, and profitability as well as completing all phases of on-site supervision. The Superintendent will also manage paperwork and provide professional communications between Shell McElroy and our subcontractors. The Superintendent will be a representative for customer service and overall customer satisfaction while establishing new, and maintaining existing, relationships with Clients, Architects, Engineers, Subcontractors, and Vendors.

  • Obtain preconstruction information from Project Manager (PM). Ensure all drawings, specifications, and addendums and bid packages are included.  Post addendums to appropriate contract documents
  • Review all Contract documents for overall understanding of responsibilities

  • Schedule and supervise all labor and materials on jobsite
